early 80's Funk!
This song is probaly from 1980,81 . I thought it was by the same group who sung "Bon Bon Vie". It goes something like" Kemo, kahmo spare us spell, ah high ah hoe " I remember it sounding like a nursery rhyme with a funk beat.

You're definitely looking for Kemo Kimo by Webster Lewis from his 1981 LP titled "Let me be the one." I haven't played that cut for a long time. It was the jam!

It's a tough one to find but good luck. My vinyl copy is in excellent shape but I've only come across the LP once. Also like you'd thought, it came out in 1981, not 1983 like I mistakenly said in my reply -- (typo.) If you have a a good vinyl LP shop in your area Webster Lewis should be under jazz although he's more like a George Duke, a jazz rooted artist dabbling in R&B/Funk. Also Webster Lewis' album "8 for 80's" from 1980 is a beast, even better than the LP with Kemo Kimo on it!

I'm out.
